Purpose

The EZTeam is based in China, so they only release their software in Chinese and Engrish.

Many of us however, are based in other countries, and having things in our own language is nice. Fortunately for us, EZTeam has made the translation of their software reasonably easy.

A few translations into some of the more commong languages have been made, and are available at our Translations Category.

Super. How do I translate one for myself?

While this example is for EZClient, the same technique applies to EZManager, but using a .ini file instead of the .lag one, a .lng file in the language subdirectory is what is changed for EZ4 Client.

Just open the English.lag file in the "langdata" folder of the EZClient in a text editor such as notepad.

Change the first line "English" with your language name (it will be the language name in the language menu of the program) and then translate lines taking care not to change the values before the = sign.

for example:

THIS:

English
m_gStrMenuFile=ROM;
m_gStrMenuOpenFile=Open GBA File;
m_gStrMenuDelFile=Delete GBA File;
m_gStrOpertion=Operation;
m_gStrMenuReflashCard=Refresh List;

BECOMES THIS:

Italiano
m_gStrMenuFile=ROM;
m_gStrMenuOpenFile=Apri File GBA;
m_gStrMenuDelFile=Elimina File GBA;
m_gStrOpertion=Operazione;
m_gStrMenuReflashCard=Aggiorna Lista;

Then save the file with the name you chose in the first line and extension .lag Now you have to just open the EZClient, connect the cart and select your language from the options!

DS/GBA side software

While a french translation of EZPDA was made, it was for a far earlier version than the current one.

You will have to hex edit either the RomBuildPro.rom file or a compiled EZPDA file.

This is a complex procedure requiring you to keep the same amount of text per section (you can pad it out with spaces (20 in hexadecimal) if you come up short).

Adding to this only basic ASCII is suported with the conventional extended set being utilised for Chinese characters.

EZLoader users should have less trouble as all the rom names can be entered at the time or burning in the "ROM Chinese name" section. However if the SMS sections are wanted to be translated then you will have to follow much the same procedure as EZPDA above and the loader_GBA.bin in the sysbin subdirectory of EZClient.
