Will there be a version of firmware v107 which can be applied seperatly and with a DSi or newer? Currently I have stayed with v105 because of risk of bricking. I am not so keen to use an old DSlite from the kids to update, because it already broke a card due to connection issues while updating a while back. This card didnt get recognised by the unbricker. It shows as version "ffff".

Bartuc, from all the test i've done and all the reports in the forum i've not seen one ez5i not recoverable. You should clean the inside of the dslite slot 1 with a cotton swab and alcohol and try again to recover your EZ5i with the unbricker v1.01 not the 1.0.

Ok. After Cleaning, the Cards get recognized in the DSlite much better. It still wouldnt allow me to unbrick the older card. So instead I tried updating the firmware to v107 with the unbricker and it said it wrote the firmware ok. But it actually seemd to brick the card. With the 3rd card I could run the unbricker and unbrick the newly bricked card with no problem and update it to v107 in the process. The 2nd card now running again, with the latest firmware and kernel on the DSlite I tried to update to 3rd card to v107 too. But it is not recognising the card. (hardware and firmware shows ffff) Is there a difference between the white labelled and black labelled cards with hardware recision 805? The black ones doesnt get recognised, but one is working with v105 and the other got bricked some time ago (I guess it was while updating to v105) The white one is recognised without problem.

Be careful, as i said in my post you must read the readme.txt before starting to unbrick your ez5i. There is 2 steps when you unbrick an ez5i, the firmware update (v107) and the bootstrap/bootloader update (guilty gear ds faked game). Write the firmware isn't enough !
About the white and the black sticker, you can find 705 and 805 with white sticker, but only 805 with black sticker.

Sounds right. It upgraded the firmware in the first run and then it needed a second run to write the rest of it. But I still have no clue, why only my white labelled ez5i is recognised and the 2 black ones arent.

yeah. My white flashcard now is completly uptodate. With kernel 3.0 OB7 and firmware v107 (HW805). The working black card is with kernel 3.0 OB6 and firmware v105 (HW805).(microSD ejected while trying to update) The bricked black card should be firmware v104 (HW805), if I remember correct. While updating to v105 it got bricked. Both black cards dont get recognised by the unbricker v1.01.

Are you sure you tried to update your working black ez5i with the kernel 3.0ob6 ? Because the unbricker doesn't allow that. You should update in k3.0ob7 before trying to use the unbricker.
When you try to update your bricked EZ5i which flashcart do you use as host ?
You should join the IRC chan (check my signature) so we can discuss about your problem.

How long is the writing step supposed to take after you pull out the card then put it back in? I've been at the write step for at least 10 minutes now and it says:
Don't power off nor pull out cartridge or you will damage the cartridge permanentlly!
I'm worried and don't know what to do. If it froze during this process am I screwed? Should I just try again?
Edit:
Decided it must've froze for some reason so I powered down to try again and now I have to send the Keys in. Man I just want my EZ Flash Vi to work again...
