I got the OS on there fine, the 1GB section formatted fine, several roms on it fine, then i load up the flash cart in my GBA, fine, english, fine, file manager... Not Fine! EZ-Disk says Warning: FAT Filesystem Error"


please help me

I have the OS and loaded several games onto the 1GB sect. of my cart stuck it in the GBA SP, the EZ PDA loaded up fine selected english went to file manager and GOD DAMNIT! another problem... it says (FAT Filesystem Error) now how the hell do i fix this?

If you are using custon skins make sure the version of rombuildpro.rom matches that of your EZManager.

I'm not using a skin and I've tried ezcheck unfortunately that doesnt seem to help since i don't think the cart is the problem, i'm figuring its the OS installation somehow? I'm using EZ Manager 2.09

everything seems hunky dory from every aspect of the process except the FAT file which blows my mind. Though one other thing is a bit queer the minesweeper game doesnt work on the EZPDA either it freezes once i hit start, odd eh?

Can anyone help?

now even when EZPDA loads up after the "hold L to skip saving" the FAT error appears, before it only appeared when i went into EZ disk

If you have any saves you want to back up then do so before you try this.

Run EZ_Check and then format both sides of the cart in EZManager. Now reload your games and hopefully you won't get the error anymore.

Just to add:

Make sure you untick the Quick Format option. And don't make any other changes to the format screen.

Try updating to the newest EZManager, and make sure you use the latest drivers which come with EZManager 2.10.

I'm going to give that a shot right now guys thanks for the quick replies, I'll let you know how it works out. i have the hynix version if that helps you with advice.

okay uninstalled the writer from the device manager, took out Aploader, and all ezwrit files from system32drivers, for a fresh reinstall as I read in a previous help post.

Restarting PC now, then I'll ezcheck the cart to fresh, then install ezmanager2.10, I'll set to ezmode 2 (since the writer says its a 2 though i'm unsure) then I'll run manager, run the GBA os, full format the 1gb portion and 256mb if i figure out how, load 2 roms under 30mb in size each (do i need to put them in folders or write anything to the 256 or do i just load OS and put roms on the 1gb side and its just supposed to work fine?) then I'll put it in my GBA SP and pray to god it works, if not I'll start looking for a tall building to jump off.

Okay first problem:

PROBLEM #1:

I ran ezmode, left it on 1/2 writer (says writer 2 on the bottom and on hologram sticker) the OS update freezes 30%. I've heard using the mode 3 fixes that so i'll try that. Closing manager switching to mode writer 3 unplug replug etc. Ran GBA OS, updating fine now.


Continuing: full Format of 1GB section went well. Formatted 256MB section went well.

PROBLEM #2:

Tried to put unzipped rom (.gba file) on (16MB chronicle of narnia) drag and dropped, pop up declares EZ disk isnt formatted asks me to format i click okay, manager freezes. closing manager, restarted, says new OS detected (oh great here we go again)


Continuing: Reinstalling OS again (worked fine), reformatting again and OH GOD NO!

PROBLEM #3:

full format of 1GB sect freezes at 80% then 2 (chinese?) alerts pop up then i close them, 1GB says 50% of the disk space used? Why me? tried to format again, same problems, closing manager yet a damned-again
. unplugreplug cart an cable, running EZcheck to try this BS again.

Continuing: Ran ezcheck again, unplug replug etc. Gonna change EZ mode back to 1/2 writer see if that makes a damn difference. Run manager OSupdate... freezes at 30% so much for that BS, unplug ezmode set to writer 3 again (seem to have more luck with that) unplug cart cable replug copying driver ezwinit2 to system32\driver again , run manager ,OSupdate, full format of 1GB fine (woo hoo) format of 256MB fine. loading rom onto 1gb 8MB rom Gunstar (.gba unzipped) wrote fine! (good news for once)

now to my understanding thats all i need to do to play the game now other then to put it in my GBA and run it in EZPDA? I don't need to put any loader software on or make any folders other the saver one already made on format? Any soecial way i have to close the manager or or remove the cart or anything? I'm just gonna close the manager, disconnect the writer and remove the cart since I'm not sure if there's some sort of ettiquette needed

I pray this is useful for anyone else who had these problems, I mostly just regurgitated info on other posts and combined them to fix my issues as well as just fiddled around the like newb idiot I am till it worked.
