hi well im still a n00bi after all this time
i would like to flashme my ds (currently using passme (ezpass2))
sick of having it always sticking out always needing it with me
ive read a lot about how to flashme a ds and its dangers
mine is earlier firmware becuz mine turned blue/gray (firmware2) during that pictochat firmware test

thingy
using ez-flash III 1gbit and 2gbit carts on normal NDS (not lite) with ezpass2 and firmware 2
so is mine flashme ready being this firmware?? wont brick?? commpatible??
thats something i never read is what firmware can/cannot be flashed
so it leads me to believe any firmware version DS can be flashed like this right??
also i dont have the downloads yet and dont want to be tricked
could someone trusty help give me the correct flashme software?? (no health-screen thanks)

plus a bunch of other webpages i downloaded all say pretty much the same thing
write the software to the cart boot up follow instructions poke some conducting metal into the battery

hole and follow the flashme steps on-screen yadda yadda until done
after which my passme becomes a useless piece of junk to me and ill need it not never again
am i right??
dangers- one guy talked about dim screen light after flashing
another said his NDS BLEW UP can you believe that?? (maybe he works for nintendo paid to say that)

Installing flashme on a old style DS is painfully easy and if you pay attention it is over in 30 seconds (provided you follow instructions it is on a lite too).

The flashme site has not really recovered from the DNS issues a couple of months back but cory1492 provides a mirror of the latest stuff until they do (actually if you are only flashing a normal DS you could use what is on the flashme website):

To answer your questions though:
your DS can be flashed.
your cart will be compatible.
the dim light is probably refering to somebody installing an old version of flashme on a DSlite, problem resoved in the new versions (which I linked)
The passme will no longer have a use after you run flashme except to install flashme on some of your friends DS (that is all mine got used for after I installed flashme))
That video is good and shows what you want to do (although you are not flashing a lite if someone else does insulate your shorting tool save the tip that does the shorting), keep the charger plugged in as well.
All firmware versions and DS models can be flashed even the iQue DS (a china only model with slightly modified internals).

but now i find out that damn battery screw is so tiny and i cant find a small enough driver
so until i find one i wont be able to report back on my flashme adventures anyway

well i was a brave girl again and succesful again!!
flashme installed and works just perfectly
no more akward ezpass sticking out from my NDS
i used to carry it in a baggie seprate
went thru heaps of differnt paper clips and hair clips
power cable nearly fell out and i was gettin real worried
but finally a fat paper clip to the rescue and viola!!
