I just got my EZ Flash III 1G cart today. I've been trying to install my EZ-Writer 2 (on a WinXP SP2 computer) all day, with no luck so far. I downloaded the EZ manager 2.10, and tried both having it look in the USB_Drivers folder, and giving it the driver itself- it tells me the driver isn't signed, which I just ignore, and does everything it's supposed to until I get this error at the end.
Can't find the file?! I've directed the installer to exactly where it needs to go.
So, I downloaded the EZ manager 2.07 and told it where the driver was (in the driver_writr2 folder this time), again, both ways. That gave me a different error. I've looked around the forums (I've gone to this topic, even), but I haven't been able to find anything yet that could help. I don't know what to do; I tried installing this thing, restarted, and tried again, both with and without the cart in it, but nothing I do helps. Maybe it's just a small stupid thing, but this is my first flash cart and I really need some help.
Copy the .inf file to c:\windows\inf. Copy everything else in the driver folder to c:\windows\system32\drivers. Plug the EZWriter back in and guide it to the files if you need to.

Ok, that's apparently gaining me a little ground because things are a bit different this time. It asks me where to find 2 more of the files- but then, in the end, it still tells me the system can't find the files. I brought the loader to a friend's house last night and it worked just fine on his computer, the only difference being that he uses XP Pro... I don't know what's wrong. Does the EZ Writer II have issues with Windows XP Home or something?
I'm about ready to back up my files, format the HDD (not like I haven't done it before ) and try installing this thing after I get everything going again... I would think that should fix the problem, heh. Of course, if there's an alternative method to getting this to work, I would try that first, but this is getting annoying very quickly, as nothing I do seems to help much.
A note- my computer is recognizing the hardware as the EZ-Writer 3 (it's actually an EZ-Writer 2)- I wouldn't think that would be any kind of problem, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case it's of any significance at all.
You don't need to take such drastic measures. It will ask where the inf file is (Windows forgets easily...) and tell it c:\windows\inf and then when it asks for the sys file guide it to c:\windows\system32\drivers. After that it should find another piece of hardware and install it w/o asking for anything. You will know it is installed right when the LED turns green.

Mine does ask for something, just as if it were the first peice being installed. I give it the drivers for EZ write 2 and it tell me that there is a file missing and installization will be cancelled and promts me to close the instal wizard
