I had a reply from someone with the same problem on the official ezflash forums, it seems his cart was defective and, after exchanging it, everything works fine.
Just my luck, mine's been bought on January 2005, I don't think I'll be able to change it too ;)
Ah, anyway, I know where it comes from.

i've found a solution for SOME games. ive been having the "blank save" problem for a while now, but only with a select few games.

as someone suggested, you should first try resetting to EZPDA by pressing ABselect start and R. some games seem to ONLY save using this method (or at least, for my cart.) two games come to mind: pokemon fire red and CV: harmony of dissonance.

if that doesnt work, try this:

when you're copying the ROM onto the cart using EZManager, there will be a dialogue that shows up asking you if you want to select instant save, etc etc. click the box that says "SAVER PATCH" and change it from "EZ-TYPE" to "IPS-TYPE". that fixed an issue i'd been having with "the tower SP" for a LONG time, ever since the jap release. now that the english release is out, and i found a way around the save issue, people who've had problems with this will be able to enjoy at least one game. has anybody else been having this same problem? if you try out this method, post and let us know what games worked by switching to IPS type.

i can confirm, though, that some games wont even let you save using this method, namely tales of ..phantasia? that port that came out recently. still trying to figure it out, but ill see what other methods i can use to hopefully fix the problem.

for the record, the back of my cart lists the date 2004.08, EZ370.

So far all of us that have carts dated 2004.08 EZ370 do not save correctly, mine is the exact same date and exact same problem.
