Hello everyone! I am having trouble with the EZ-Flash that I purchased recently.

The driver has been installed and the cartridge can be recognized. However, when I try to add games into the cartridge, when I press the "Burn" button, the application crashes and then terminates. The message that appears before the application terminates si something like "Cannot write into memory" (I cannot actually read the whole of the message because it is in Japanese).

Could it be because I am using it in Windows JP Environment?

My OS (as I have mentioned) is Windows 2000 JP.

It could be that: I only has Asian language compatibility installed so I can not say definitively and I have not really used win2k much especially with EZflash kit.

Otherwise try disabling your firewall, anti virus and other stuff that can affect it (EZFlash kit has to use fairly low level stuff to work) as well as ctrl, alt and delete to shut down any needless background applications (keyboard hotkeys, printer managers etc).

Oh and make sure your roms are good (bad/tweaked roms sometimes crash the client) also unzipping them does not hurt either.

Two other things make sure you use an administrator account although win2k should not matter and do not use a hub/USB splitter device (in fact unplug any other USB devices you may be using if you can).

Other than that try a different computer and try another version of the software.

Well, I just tried it with WinXP US, and the same error occurs. Here is the error in english:

"The instruction at '0x73dd1351' referenced memory at '0x00000004'. The memory could not be 'read'."

Any idea what this means?

Also, if I were in a secured LAN (with all the firewall and everything), is there no other way to make it work?

Thanks in advance! :D

I forgot to mention that when you click the "System Config" menu, most of the menu items there cannot be selected. The only "clickable" ones are SoftWare UpData, Remove Intro, and Language Select. Does this have any implication?

Also, I can remove the games (I friend had installed it before I purchased it from him), but I cannot put them back (since I cannot Burn them back into the cartridge). What could be reason behind this? (Aside from the memory error)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Could possibly be dirty contacts especially if the cart has been around a while and gives the header error you mentioned: clean the contacts on your cart with a pencil rubber (even if they look shiny they can still be filthy).

I only suggested the firewall and AV stuff as software based programs are known to cause problems for other and myself.

Failing that another version of the software looking like something you will have to try (3.23 works great for me).

Hmmm are you sure you don't actually have an EZ Flash Advance II? Does it look like this?

Ok, the problem is gone, I just reformatted the card, and then when I did, it completes the writing process. Now, after finishing the writing process, nothing is actually written on the cartridge.

Oh, by the way, I used the installation for ezflash client ver 3.04 and updated to 3.11 (currently that is the version in the faq). That works now, except for the problem stated above.

Also, I do have that cartridge, the same as the picture in the above post.

Ok that's good. The error seemed strange and just wanted to make sure you didn't have the knock-off cart.
