After some thought, I felt my previous skin, Midnight, was too colourful.

For this reason, here is my new skin, Midnight 2. It's like an iPhone, except less happy.

Available in a variety of different colours.

Also included is a user-friendly Photoshop file and macro which automates the saving of the various kernel bitmaps.

Download Midnight 2

Looks great, it blends together well. Wondering how you made the background? Custom brush?

I have a request.

Could you use this skin, but instead of gold, make it silver or steel blue [grey-ish blue]?

I like the background on this one more too.

Hi,
Amazing job, look really 'classy' on my son's black DS lite.
My dream is now to find the equivalent for the white mine.
Many thank's

Just a bump to let everyone know it's now available in Blue.

Also some minor graphics fixes here and there for both themes.

Just wanted to bump to let you guys know it's been updated again.

A rainbow of colours to choose from, along with Photoshop file and file export macro.

Awesome skins!

I was going to try and make the other one less colourful, but I'm terrible at editing.
Theres so many to choose from now!

Hi scrawl,

Do you think it is possible to 'solarize' the black tone until you approach a "White Pearl" tint ?
As I say in the post before, this black theme is perfect on a black DS Lite; the 'rainbow' I hope is according the background to the color of the DS, even with a choice for colored glyph like the 6 you made.

Sorry for my bad english and thank you again for your job.

Hi Scrawl,

Great skin! It looks awesome (I put the Gold and it looks nice).

I have one minor gripe: what is the startup sound? It sounds kind of cheesy, no offense. As the perfect hypocrite, I can't think of anything better (except, if you were to seek a replacement, make it slightly shorter- waiting for the sound to pass before scrolling gets boring :) )

I'd like to request a dark blue (navy?) and a purple version. The pink *almost* looks like purple :)

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.

To answer a few questions:

This tutorialpretty much got me going with the background texture and initial button style. I then added my own refinements to it.

I'm afraid at this stage, the skin will only be available in black. Can't really face developing another Moonshell skin at the moment. If anything, my next project will be a robust EZ-V photoshop template with automated bitmap exporting.

Hehe, I'm afraid this one isn't changing either. Too many fond memories regarding this sound effect. If you're in the 25+ bracket, you might remember a game called Syndicate. If not, watch this video.

There's a purple version now available. Download in the first post. No Dark blue I'm afraid - I haven't managed to get Dark colours working on the black background.
