Hello,
I've been following this threat for a number of weeks now, and i'm trying to find out to do with my daughters NDS.
Nintendo DSiXL + Ez-Flash Vi
Kernel 3.0 OB 6
Firmware 105
Hardware 805
Versie 1.4.1E
The NDS works fine, but can't play most of het games.
My other daughter has a DS lite that plays much more games.
Her card is a EZ-Flash Vplus.

I've been reading that firmware 105 ain't compatibel with Ez-Flash Vi.
I've also been reading that downgrading ain't recomended, and firmware 106 can result in a brick.

What are my options, and what is recomended.
(I hope you understand what I mean, because english is not my native language)

Hanziman.

Well, you should update your EZ 5i to Firmware 107 and Kernel OB7 -> viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17502
That shouldn't be a problem as you (probably) have access to your other daughter's NDS Lite.

Updating shouldn't be a problem, but what do i have to update first.
I also want to know if updating to version 1.4.3 is possible and where can I find how to do so.

Hanziman
(thanks for any reply)

Well, you can update both (Kernel and Firmware). Just make sure to put 3.0 OB7 on the card before you try to update to FW 107.
About 1.4.3 - I'd first update the card, then the DSi, just to make sure. :)

Hi, I recently purchased the game Super Mario 3d Land. The first time I played it, it updated my 3DS console -I didn't play with it from some time, so maybe it's an old update.

But now, I can't start the DS emulator, as soon as I choose it in the first menu it goes black and it asks me to shutdown the console. It worked in a DS Lite, and I've try it with the kernel 3.0 update (now it doesn't work on the lite either, as expected) but the black screen is there.

Any fix, please?

What is the Firmware of your EzVi card, and which kernel are you using ?

The latest Firmware is 107 that comes with a unbricker in it.
The latest kenel is 3.0 OB7.

You can update your EzVi card with this software on it, at a Ds or DsLite.
Be sure you don't use a 3in1 pack at your Ds or DsLite.

Also be sure, your consule is fully charged, and use also the net adaptor.

Read the screen instruction good. This update requires several times a hotswap
of your EzVi card. This means don't turn off your Ds, but remove and replace again
your EzVi card in the slot of your Ds.

This update removes all the system software at your EzVi, and replaced it with a new one.
If you had first "Tak" on it, then you have after finishing "Guilty Gear" on it.

Now your able to play again.

How can I update it on a DS or DSLite if them cannot read the new firmware/kernel? It just shows an error.

Also, I don't see any thread with the 107 firmware, where can I download it? I can only found de 106.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Which error ?

Be more precise if you wish to get some help on your issue.

Also tell us the content of your microsd's root.

The common error "An error has occurred, shutdown... bla bla bla".

And the contents are:
- EZ5Shell folder
- SAVE folder
- ROMDAT folder
- My own games folder
- ez5isys.bin
- ez5iunbricker1.01.nds

I see. This error won't happen on a ds or dslite.

Update your ez5i on a ds or dslite using the firmware v106a and the kernel 3.0ob7 as Eric van Beek told you. ;)

hello everyone, today i have updated ezvi to kernel 3.0 ob9 and firmware v106, and it not boot on dsi 1.43..why? can't understand..
then i choose to update to v107 with the unbricker using the same ezvi for the swap as people here have suggested, but after it updated successfully, then the card not work anymore on ds lite and dsi, no card recognized.

with an acekard from a friend i have unbricked my ezvi and now i have v107 firmware that works for nds lite, BUT when i insert in dsi (mne or my friend one) the card simply erase itself O_O i have to unbrick it again and at the ends only works on the nds lite..:( how i can fix this? thanks

I have not even a clue on why this happen on your EZ5i.
You should give more detail (step by step) on how it get bricked.

update kernel to 3.0 ob9, than firmware 106, not working on my dsi, power off error, when instead it had to boot..<_<

then updated with the unbricker to 107, update successfully, test on dsi and no cart inserted..WHAT? than unbricked with acekard and its working only on ds lite, in every dsi i test it it will be erased! <_<

Where did you find this kernel 3.0ob9 ? I'm curious, this kernel doesn't exist.
the last one is 3.0ob7.

sorry is ob7 ;) and h705 f107....on dslite it works perfectly...if the ez team knows that the update is risky, why they have released it anyway?? why my card updated by latest kernel and latest firmware result in black screen on dsi?...Why the unique mode to have firmware 107 is to run the unbricker?? its too difficult to release a stand alone 107 firmware?

there is no way to reset to the very first factory firmware? and then install again?
