Please read this carefully. This is the first and last time I shall post on this subject.
There seems to be numerous new people to this board. Whilst we strive to see new people here to enjoy the community we've built up, it's becoming frustrating to see people do one thing: Complain.
Justified complaints are fine. If a product does not work as advertised, has bugs or "features", then discussion and feedback is welcome. However, people are here doing nothing but whinging due to a 3rd party product not working correctly with their EZ4/Lite.
I have a few questions, feel free to think them over before posting on this subject again:
Q: If I buy a modchip for my Xbox and it doesn't work with my revision 6 Xbox, who do I complain too ?
A: If you're on this board it would be Microsoft !
Real Answer: The modchip manufacturer.
Q: I purchased an aftermarket turbo chip for my Subaru WRX, it damaged the engine, what should I do ?
A: Take it back to Subaru, they'll fix it for free. I mean, c'mon, it should work...
Real Answer: Tough shit, you broke your car, go pay to get it fixed.
See the trend ?
Complaining that the EZTeam won't make a 3rd party product work with their flashcarts is pointless. They've tried. Each time they succeed it appears the rival companies make their Passme Gen 3's a little differently and it locks the EZTeam out again. This isn't speculation and it isn't co-incidence. It's happened three times now.
How many times must the EZTeam attempt to get their cart working with a competitors product ?
Should they spend all their time and resources on this ?
Would people then complain about lack of support for newer games ?
My only suggestion is you email the manufacturers of the Superkey and the Passcard3 and complain to them why they keep changing their nopass cards to lock out the EZTEam.
I agree their own nopass solution would be best, however until they announce that one exists, then things aren't going to change.
In the interim, no more topics discussing the fact that the Superkey and the Passcard3 do not work on the EZ4/Lite.
All future topics of this nature will be locked without warning. Repeat offenders will have their accounts suspended for a week.
I totally agree man. I'm tired of these newcomers (I really wanted to say something else ) slandering the EZTeam name because of another company’s problem. The EZTeam brought me into the flashcart world with their EZII PS 256. I had this cart for 4 years now and never had a problem with it what so ever. The support for the cart has come a long way since it was first released, and it even plays NDS games. I wouldn't go with any other company and I hope these newcomers don't hurt EZTeam too much by scaring away potential customers. They have spread to other forums yelling things like DONT BUY EZ PRODUCTS. It's getting a little crazy. Hopefully EZTeam will find a way to win people back.

same, ive never had a problem with my ez2 for over 3 years now, great product...i have 2 flashed ds's (one lite and one phat) and so ive only expressed that the ez team hopefully announce their own new passkey as to not lose what keeps them going to begin with...customers, otherwise b/c of ppl who have jumped the gun to assume one 3rd party product would work with another, the ez team is given a bad rep b/c of the consumers initial mistake and causes the ez team to lose its customers (ruining future experiences for every1 else who lives by ez products [now u understand why i have asked so many questions since ive joined these boards, so i know about the products i am buying and do not buy the wrong product and put myself into the position to complain and put the blame on someone else other than myself ] ). they complain and i read and express my own personal opinion..and have still gone and pre ordered an ez4 lite regardless b/c i know it will work, and still have faith that the ez team will release their own plug and play passkey.

I don't believe the passcard manufacturers have gone out of their way to lock EZ out.
This is just an excuse from the EZ team. Right from the start with the MML there were people who it worked for and people it didn't. This is probably due to the new no-pass type devices being based on actual DS games. I don't suppose they used the same game rom for every device, and I think that's where the problem lies.
The EZ team over the past year or so have been getting a reputation 'Ineptness' and think deservedly so.
Just because they use to be good means nothing. Personel change and I think it's obvious that the coders on the EZ team are not the same bunch of guy's who were associated with EZ's earlier success.

Don't talk rubbish here. Even as a new user, its plain to see that the EZ4 failed to work with the release of newer versions of the nopass cards. Just try using a EZ4 without the newer kernel updates and its obvious that the fault lies with the nopass, not the EZ4.

It never worked properly with older kernels either. Because if that was the case people who can't get into DS mode with their no-pass device would have a fix ! wouldn't they ?
I think the major problem for me atleast (not that i have slated the EZTeam at all, and have complied to using the thread for asking in regards to 3rd generation carts) was the actual lack of clear, understandable infomation and when infomation is presented it has spewed lots of contradictions which could, and possibly has lead someone into buying something that they cannot and do not require. For example:
The Admin in this topic has stated that Supercard/Passcard3's DO NOT work with EZFlash devices. The patch notes say compaiblity with the EZFlash4 device was fixed entirely (no infomation on if new or old supercard/passcard3 work, it just says its fixed) and the people in the topic devoted to the third generation say compabilty is only with the old type cards, but not the new ones. Also, all the infomation on retailers such as Winsunx etc are in 'engrish' which only adds to the confusion
As a new user, i could well be missing something. I am not saying that this is anyones fault, if i didnt want a EZFlash device, i wouldnt have bought one. I agree with the admin to an extent, in that people should not slander the device because of its compability with 3rd party products. However it would be very handy if a clear topic, possibly stickie that could list the EZFlash's compability with these carts, to aviod anyone buying the wrong product, and if they do, its there own fault for not researching the device enough.

Thank you for your time.
This post is 100% true. It's very confusing when an EZFlash loader update comes out and says Superkey/Passcard 3 compatibility is restored, and they don't state which one.
I also don't think all companies are out to get EZ. Certain MML versions don't work with the newest loader, and I've heard the MML people have been working with EZ.
It would be nice if the EZ team would just say they are releasing their own nopass device, or if they are planning on fixing the compatibility problem, or that they simply can't or won't. Then no one could complain
im writing an faq at the moment with the knowleadge ive gathered. Il gladly post it up if anyone is interested! Thanx ZildjianKX for making me feel slightly less alone on the compatibility issues!
i just flashed my DsLite and was done with it. Ive seen lots of info on the EZ4lite and was pretty keen to buy it until i saw such a poor device IMO. ive been told the product looks cheap, compatiblity is shite [PassCards], and moonshell issues. I was really keen to buy this because i wanted
-play NDS
-play GBA
-Play Mp3
-Play Movies
-play Homebrew
[i know it looks like i want everything but heck with all this product revision there should be something that fits into a DSlite and can do all this flawlessly]
but i have read all this issues and Saves files, homebrew problems ect.
just seems this device was long awaited for nothing bar good NDS compatiblity and isnt that wat ALL the new DS flashcarts have anyways, just seems like a rush product aiming purely to beat its rivals to opening day.
Well prove me wrong buts that JUST my opinion and i can problem say that alot of people are thinking this considering the great products EZ HAD. a great example of this is that cracker even went to the M3, com'on i think thats saying something.
And the fact that Slade has to even start a Post like this is telling us that the EZteam are doing anything to justify themselfs, if everone is baging the new EZ products there is a reason and the team should give the customers some info to ease are minds but lack of interest to the english speaking consumers is quiet a kick in the teeth. As Slade has said he isnt getting paid to do this but will still stand up and say STFU to us about complaints, im glad to see someone still has FAITH in the company but that seems to be all their is anymore. and i was surprised to see some info on a Ver2 of their new product but then to find out the next day that these were rumors. i am aware that the software is still in development but still i have everyright to be angry as do the people they bought the products that arn't happy with them, the customers always right, even if they are 11 teens year old whining bitches. we still have a right to get some info on whats going on here.
well thats my rant ill prolly read this and think WTF was i thinking but im sure many will agree or flame me, but i really couldn't care less, BTW im farely new to this forum and all i seem to be doing when i go on here is Answering peoples questions and not finding anything to use for me.

My goodness...
Lets start at the top here.
@Meengreenie. Think before typing. And go read up about the new passme devices. They're not called Nopass'es for a reason. They don't contain game code. None, nada, zip, zilch. They contain the decryption algorythm for the NDS roms amongst other things. They're not based on a game. Cory was kind enough to post images of the internals of the MML, and there was no game chip in it.
@kennyboy, at least someone understands!
@Decker4000, yes they could. Who knows, they may even do that. There was a post by Raeca stating as much on the chinese forums (that the best option would be for them to release their own nopass device). Whether this eventuates, I don't know.
@Tyja, it's hard to tell which version of the Superkey and Passcard3 is being sold. Unless you test the cart out, how can you tell which revision it is ? It's becoming apparent that the outward appearences of the carts don't change with revisions, otherwise people would be saying they have a revision 1 or 2 or 3 due to something different on their cart.
Without digging through all the info, I believe revision 1 of each nopass may work, revision 2 does work and revision 3 does not work. Revision 1 of the MML does not work however revision 2 does work (thanks nago) !
Cory has stated that the Neo Mk4 does work with the EZ4, he has one and has tested it.
So, lets go back and ask: How can you honestly blame the EZTeam for trying to make their cart work with someone elses nopass device when that device keeps getting revision changes to lock them out ?
May be people need to go learn a little business accumen. If a company can lock another company out of the market they will do so. Have a good look at what is happening around here. The people behind both the Superkey and the Passcard3 make their own flashcarts. Why would they want to support another companies product when that company doesn't make their own nopass ?
They wouldn't. If they can lock them out, create enough confusion and negativity then people will go out and buy their carts.
Now, just to keep things in perspective. I do agree the EZTeam needs to get their act together. They need to come out with a solution of their own. They need to fix the inherent problems/bugs with the client and they need to get homebrew authors on their side.
How can this be achieved:
1/ Open source the EZ4 Client as soon as practicle.
2/ Offer the EZ4/Lite to some homebrew authors in exchange for making their code compatible.
3/ Make their own nopass device.
4/ Open communication channels more.

Slade i agree with you
i am not polemical
i really wonder what is taking so much time to stop them from releasing EZ Pass 3
after all it shouldn't be too difficult getting the idea of how it is done now that there are already four passkeys on the market (SuperKey, Super Card 3, MML and MK4)
Off Topic PS: Slade this time it's Italy-Australia. What's your forecast? I say Italy wins 2-1
Without digging through all the info, I believe revision 1 of each nopass may work, revision 2 does work and revision 3 does not work. Revision 1 of the MML does not work however revision 2 does work (thanks nago)
Are you 100% sure all MMLs now being sold are EZ4 compatible? Do you know if the plastic is any better on the new models?
The reason I ask is I'll buy one now if I know it will work.
This is exactly why people are so frustrated, it's hard to buy a nopass device that you are certain will work since there are revisions now, etc.
(On a side note, besides a lot of people bitching that nopass devices don't work on EZ cards, I think it would be interesting to know why they don't, since a lot of them don't work on regular GBA flash cards too).
